Introducing Garment Making A-Z
Featuring Don Croner
We are happy to introduce our long-time customer, friend & sewing-family member,
Don Croner. As our newest instructor, he has offered to share his love of sewing.
In his own words, here is a bit of Don's history...
"I made my first shirt in July of 2010 using a very old Kenmore sewing machine. I was immediately hooked and shortly thereafter bought a new Bernina and a Babylock Serger.
Now - 7 years later - I have tons of jeans & jean jackets, Hawaiian shirts, Western shirts, sport coats, quilts and embroidery. It can be a bit addictive!! (I won't mention all of the sewing machines Carol and I have - but I can safely add that we have made Michael very happy)...
What to Expect - The Course will consist of four classes.
Course Prerequisites - Bring a pattern
(There are many to choose from; Kwik-Sew & Simplicity are the friendliest. McCalls & Butterick are also good but more challenging for beginners - avoid Vogue & Burda (not for beginners).
Instructor's Suggestions - #1: Hawaiian Shirt Pattern (fun to make, fun fabrics)
#2: Blue Jeans (A bit more difficult but Kwik-Sew pattern is easy to follow) It's up to you.
The first class will be a 4-Hour Introductory; Getting familiar with sewing patterns and a list of material, notions & accessories needed. The remaining three classes will be building your garment.
The exact times & dates are flexible until we meet the first time. They will be ALL DAY classes so please bring a lunch.
$100 for the Course (4 classes)
or Pay As You Go @ $30/Class
Stop by the store or call to sign-up!
"I promise we will have FUN
and if all goes well you will have a garment that will give you tons of pride that you made it yourself!!!"
